Rider's Checklist
Before you go out and hit the runs, make sure you're prepared.
Here's a rider checklist and the low down on safety guidelines to
help prepare you for your adventure:
Protection:
* Helmet!!!
* Goggles
* Wrist guards
* Knee pads
* Butt pads/impact shorts (optional)
* Sunscreen and Lip protection
Clothing:
* 1st layer thermals
* 2nd layer fleece (optional)
* Jacket
* Pants
* Gloves
* Socks
* Sockhat
Hardgoods:
* Snowboard
* Bindings
* Boots
* Leash & Traction
Safety First!
1. Protect your head with a helmet!
2. Stay on rookie runs if you're new to the sport.
3. Always stay in control.
4. Observe all signs.
5. People ahead of you have the right of way.
6. Use a leash. Many resorts have a "lose your board, lose
your pass" rule.
7. Learn to get off the lifts, or get out of the way if you fall.
8. Pay attention to merging slopes.
9. Don't stop or sit in the middle of runs.
10. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water!
